Mission and Service

Each Spring Break, we take a mission trip to spread God's love and increase our own fellowship and service. Pictured left are are some of the students who helped on our mission trip in Rockford, Illinois last March.

This year we will be working in Denver, with Denver Urban Ministries over spring break, March 27 - April 3, 2010. We will be doing a variety of activities, such as, preparing and serving meals for the homeless, buidling and improving low-income housing, preparing and delivering meals to patients with HIV/AIDS, painting homes and working with children of economically disadvantaged families. The cost of the trip is $250 and the deadline to apply is January 31, 2010. We will also be taking some time for sight seeing in Denver and heading into the mountains for some skiing and inner tubing on the slopes!

A favorite local service event is to sing and visit with the residents.at the Lenoir Retirement Community. We visit Lenoir every first Tuesday of the month (September 1, October 6, November 3 and December 1, 2009). We car pool from the church at 5:00 p.m. or you can meet us at Lenoir. If you love ministering to the elderly please plan to join us.

We also love to help elderly church members with yard work and a variety of household projects each semester. It is a great way to put our faith in action, build friendships with each other and help people in need.
